Gregory Peck's Former Daughter-In-Law Advised Of Animal Cruelty Charge
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - The former daughter-in-law of the late actor Gregory Peck has been advised of animal cruelty charges she faces in Colorado.
Kimi Peck appeared briefly in a Weld County courtroom Tuesday but did not enter a plea. She was charged with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty in May after authorities found one of her dogs running loose and emaciated near her home. The 64-year-old had previously had large numbers of animals removed from her care in other states.
Three days before her arrest, Peck voluntarily surrendered 53 dogs she had been transporting in a trailer in Cheyenne, Wyo.
In 2010, Peck was fined $5,000 in California, for running a kennel without a permit. Authorities said she kept more than 170 dogs in a home she rented west of Tehachapi.
