Pioneers Lacrosse A Different Team From When They Lost To Duke

DENVER (CBS4) - It will be a huge weekend for the University of Denver lacrosse team.

The Pioneers are in Baltimore for the Final Four in the NCAA tournament. They play Duke this Saturday.

The Pioneers lost to Duke early in the season, but that was at their place. They have a run of 13 straight wins and are a different team, but then again, so is Duke.

"It was early in the season and the weather wasn't nice; and we were missing a couple of key players and we hadn't found ourselves as a team," DU midfielder Jeremy Noble said. "I think as the year has gone on we would be able to figure out who we are as a team; and I think that is something that we were looking at saying, 'Hey, we're ready to do this thing.'

"They had a lot of their good players playing in that game and we didn't have a couple of our key players. So we're just looking forward to getting to Baltimore and getting practice out there and looking forward to the faceoff Saturday."
