Newspaper's 'Peyton Manning Arrested' Headline Not What You Think

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CBS4) – A Tennessee newspaper ran a headline that may shock Broncos fans: "Peyton Manning Arrested."

But they can breathe a little easier because this Peyton Manning is not the five-time NFL MVP ... she's an 18-year-old woman who shares a name with the Broncos QB.

The woman named Peyton Manning was arrested on drug charges.

Manning, along with a friend, Kenneth Sowards, 18, were arrested during an overnight traffic stop.

Police pulled Manning over because she was driving with her high beams on, according to the police report obtained by The Tennessean.

The officers searched the car after smelling marijuana, according to the arrest warrant. During the search, the officers found two jars of marijuana and small bags of cocaine dissolving in Coca-Cola.

Manning was charged with possession of cocaine, pot and drug paraphernalia.

She is currently in jail on a $20,000 bond.
