Denver Police Find Puppies, Piglets & Rabbits Packed In Minivan

DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver confiscated more than two dozen animals from a vehicle Monday evening.

According to police, officers were contacted about animals locked in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 2900 block of Speer Boulevard.

"The officers found a minivan with its windows rolled up containing 23 animals, including piglets, rabbits and puppies," police said in a statement. "The officers contacted the owner of the minivan, who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Summit County."

The animals were taken to safety by Animal Control officers. The puppies and piglets were taken into foster care and the rabbits were taken to the Denver Animal Shelter.

Steven Jones, 31, was taken into custody for the warrant but the animals were later released back to him.
