DU Lacrosse Wins Opening Round Of NCAA Tourney, Advances To Play Drexel

DENVER (CBS4) – University of Denver’s lacrosse team dominated North Carolina on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

The Pioneers took out the Tar Heels 9-5 behind freshman Zach Miller’s two goals at DU’s Peter Barton Stadium.

Coach Bill Tierney’s Pioneers will face Drexel in the second round┬ánext Sunday on the road in Delaware.

Denver is seeded No. 5 in the 18-team tournament.
