Boulder Police Arrest Man Accused Of Sexual Assault

BOULDER, Colo. - Police in Boulder have arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault and burglary.

According to police, Brandon Lee Heginger, 22, faces charges of sexual assault, first-degree burglary and theft for the crime that occurred on April 13 in the 1000 block of Grandview Avenue sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

"The female victim told police that she was home asleep in her bed when she awoke to an unknown male touching her inappropriately," Kim Kobel with Boulder police said in a statement. "She confronted the male and the male left the residence."

Kobel said Heginger is also accused of taking a laptop and cash. Police located the laptop at Heginger's home in Lakewood last Friday after executing a search warrant. He was arrested by Lakewood police.

"Detectives interviewed Heginger, who admitted that after a night of partying with friends he randomly chose the victim's home, broke into it and sexually assaulted her," Kobel said.
