DENVER (CBS4) – There are now 50 new American citizens in Colorado.

The men and women from 23 countries took their oath of allegiance and became citizens Tuesday morning at a naturalization ceremony held at the Denver Public Library.

“Immigrants helped to found our country, but also help to continue to make it wonderful and great. They’re our innovators,” said Lisa Flores, who attended the ceremony.

Flores says becoming a citizen gives those people a chance to have a say in their future by voting.
