Craft Protest In Denver Marks Birth Control Case

DENVER (AP) - A group of Denver supporters of the federal birth control employer mandate took out their arts and crafts supplies to protest Attorney General John Suthers' involvement in the Hobby Lobby case.

The activists demonstrated near Suther's office Tuesday with signs including replicas of birth control packets made with glitter and construction paper.

The demonstration came as the U.S. Supreme Court considers challenges to the birth control mandate by Hobby Lobby and other employers. Hobby Lobby won a victory in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver on the issue.

Suthers has filed legal briefs supporting companies that provide health insurance to their employees, but object to covering certain methods of birth control that they say violate their religious beliefs.

He's in Mexico for talks about fighting organized crime.
