Teenager Killed In Car Crash
DENVER (CBS4) – Police are investigating an accident that killed a 17-year-old boy Monday morning.
It happened on Colfax Avenue and Dayton Street at around 12:15 a.m.
The driver of an SUV was traveling eastbound on Colfax as the boy in a Chevrolet Camaro was trying to cross Dayton when the cars collided.
Investigators think alcohol and speeding may be a factor.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The driver of the Camaro was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Officers say they're now pursuing potential charges of felony vehicular homicide, DUI and being a habitual traffic offender.
Police have not released the identities of those involved.
