GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — A 33-year-old man is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder after his common-law wife was found dead in a home in south Jefferson County.
The sheriff’s office says deputies were called to a domestic disturbance at about 9 p.m. Friday and found 34-year-old Michele Elaine Lucero dead in the home. Her common-law husband, Michael Allen Sommerfield, had left the scene by the time officers arrived but later turned himself in to authorities.
He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
The coroner’s office has not said how Lucero died.
