Pepper Spray Helps Teen Escape From Attempted Kidnapping Suspect

DENVER (CBS4)- A teenage girl got away from an attempted kidnapper after she sprayed him with pepper spray.

Police said the 14-year-old girl was walking in the 3000 block of N. Fillmore Street about 3:50 p.m. on Thursday when she was approached by the suspect.

He became upset when he tried to talk to her and she would not engage in conversation with him. That's when the suspect grabbed the victim's left arm and told her, "Let's go to my house."

When this happened the girl pulled out her pepper spray and sprayed him in the face which also contained a visible orange skin dye. The victim then ran away to safety.

Police in Denver are searching for the man described as a black male in his 20s, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot tall, skinny build,k with short black hair and a chin-strap type beard, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
