DU Pioneers Need To Stay On Top To Get To NCAA Tournament

DENVER (CBS4)- University of Denver Pioneers senior Sam Brittain has been named the conference "Goalie of the Year" but the hockey team needs to stay on top to make it all the way.

It's been a struggle this year for the DU hockey team. They play Western Michigan in the conference semi-finals on Friday.

The Pioneers need to win that game and the championship game to get to the NCAA Tournament.

"We're a team. We want to fight for each other. We don't want to see our season end this quick so we're doing whatever we can to stay alive and hopefully make the NCAA Tournament," said DU Pioneers Forward Zac Larraza.
