Suspicious Device Found At Erie Park

ERIE, Colo. (CBS4)– Police in Erie are asking for information about a suspicious device that was discovered in Lehigh Park Thursday afternoon.

The Boulder County Bomb Squad, along with Mountain View Fire Rescue and Longmont Hazardous Materials crews rushed to the park at Erie Commons after something burst into flames near the pavilion.

The investigation determined someone had attempted to construct an explosive device.

Residents are being cautioned not to touch or pickup any suspicious or unknown devices in the park.

Lehigh Park is described as a neighborhood park with basketball courts, picnic tables, a playground and soccer fields.
