DeGette Asking For Tougher Regulations On E-Cigarettes

DENVER (CBS4) – A Colorado Congresswoman is asking for tougher regulations on advertising for electronic cigarettes.

Rep. Diana DeGette believes the makers of the new product are targeting teenagers.

"E-cigarette companies have revived age-old tactics that were used to promote tobacco products by advertising on television, online and on other platforms to target America's youth and to recruit new nicotine users," said DeGette.

Next week she plans to introduce legislation that would prohibit advertising, marketing and promoting e-cigarettes to children.
