Burglar Caught By Leaving Soda Can Behind Found Guilty
DENVER (CBS4) – A serial burglar who was caught after leaving a soda can with his DNA at a crime scene has been found guilty.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Brandon Campbell, 28, was found guilty of second-degree burglary, theft and criminal trespass.
"Campbell broke into a home in the 14900 block of East 50th Place through a rear sliding door on April 15, 2010. He ransacked the home, stole jewelry and electronics, and left an open can of Cherry Crush in the house," Kimbrough said in a statement.
Campbell's DNA linked him to the burglary. He has multiple convictions for burglary, trespassing, theft by receiving and parole violations.
Campbell faces up to 48 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 24.
