Denver To Get Assitance Building Better Bike Lanes
DENVER (CBS4) – Saying Denver is uniquely ready to lead by example, a national bicycle advocacy group has chosen to help the city build better bike lanes.
PeopleForBikes’ Green Lane Project works with U.S cities to speed up the instillation of protected bike lanes around the country. Denver and five other cities were chosen — Atlanta, Boston, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and Seattle, were chosen to join an intensive two-year project.
City planners will be given technical assistance or strategic assistance to build on street lanes that will take advantage of xurbs, planters, parked cars and posts to make riding a more attractive option for commuters and those out to enjoy a day of cycling.
