Fort Carson's Investigation Into Soldier's 'Selfie' Completed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4/AP) – Fort Carson officials say the investigation is complete after a photo posted on Instagram that appeared to show a soldier deliberately avoiding saluting the flag resulted in a storm of criticism.

In the caption of the picture posted on Facebook the soldier, identified as Pfc. Tariqka Sheffey, said she was hiding in her car to avoid saluting the American flag.

Fort Carson officials said the unit commander addressed the situation, but the base is not releasing what actions if any were taken.
