Woman Killed In 104-Vehicle Pileup Remembered

DENVER (CBS4)- Friends and family gathered to remember the woman killed in a 104-vehicle pile-up on Interstate 25 on Saturday.

Becky Newkirk died in the massive crash near I-25 and Logan. She was from Stillwater, Okla.

Newkirk was in Denver for the weekend to reunite with her 15 siblings to celebrate their mother's 93rd birthday.

There was a memorial service on Wednesday to remember Newkirk. Her funeral is scheduled for Monday in Stillwater.

Authorities say another 30 people were injured in the chain of accidents on I-25 that occurred as a band of heavy snow moved through south Denver on Saturday.

Police say 104 vehicles were involved in crashes along a roughly 2-mile stretch of the highway. Vehicles littered northbound I-25 in the aftermath of three separate pileups between University Boulevard and Broadway.
