According to Sonny Jackson with Denver police, the shooting occurred in the 2600 block of Hazel Court, which is near Federal Boulevard and Yale Avenue in the Harvey Park neighborhood.

The victim called 911 to report the shooting.

According to Jackson, three people were inside the home at the time of the invasion.

“The first gentleman that came in held me on the ground at gunpoint. The second circulated around the house,” said the male victim who asked not to be identified.

Several male suspects entered the home, assaulted the two women and man inside and shot one of the female victims.

“They were asking for money and there was no money there,” said the victim.

The woman is in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

The suspects also stole items from the home, but it’s unclear at this point exactly what was taken.

Police have no suspect descriptions at this point, but are trying to talk with witnesses to get an idea of who they are and why they invaded that home.
