Police Investigating Suspicious Death In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Lakewood are investigating what they’re calling a suspicious death after they found a body inside a mobile home.

Chris Vecchiarelli said he can’t believe the neighbor he delivered groceries to and saw only day ago is gone.

“He was a real nice guy. He kept to himself,” said Vecchiarelli.

The victim’s mobile home was bustling with investigators after he was found dead inside Saturday morning.

Investigators spent the day looking for clues inside the home and though they are calling the death suspicious, they have not ruled it a homicide.

“Whether this is a homicide or not will depend a lot on the autopsy and the manner of death,” said Detective Ty Countryman from Lakewood police.

Countryman said they don’t have any suspects at this point but are still investigating.

“As with any investigation somebody knows something,” said Countryman.

While the case is still in early stages, Vecchiarelli said he is waiting for answers.

“He was a good person, and I don’t think he deserved that,” said Vecchiarelli.

Police have still not released the man’s name or age, but they hope to learn more on Monday.
