Police said the victims were inside their apartment at the Trails at Parkfield Lake complex. The cause of their deaths is being investigated by the coroner, but the deaths are being called a homicide.

Denver police had been looking for a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe they believed to be somehow connected to the case.

When police found the vehicle in Aurora on South Kalispell Street, a young man ran from the car but was later found one block away.

"Kind of scary for your neighborhood because … you want to be in a safe neighborhood," said neighborhood resident Willmia Jay.

It remains unclear whether the young man Aurora police captured had any involvement with the double homicide.

Neighbors nearby saw the apprehension happen.

"He didn't have a shirt on, they had him in handcuffs and they were taking photographs of him," said a neighbor.

Damien Gee came home with his family to a flurry of police activity.

"I was just wondering, 'Is anybody in the house, anything going on,' because from what I understand maybe he tried to break into the neighbor's house to get away," said Gee.

Denver police said the young man caught was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Arapahoe County.

Two other young people were in the Tahoe but were not arrested.
