Police On The Hunt For Missing Sex Offender

DENVER (CBS4) – Police are searching for a sex offender they say walked away from a Denver halfway house.

Eric Hartwell is wanted on a nationwide warrant for violating his parole.

The 51-year-old was convicted of molesting of a six-year-old in Washington State in 1991 and for attempted rape of a 15-year-old hitchhiker in 1995.

U.S. Marshals said Hartwell has also served time for failing to register as a sex offender.
