DENVER (CBS4) – District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a second man in connection with a string of bike thefts that happened throughout December and January.

Victor Herrera has been charged with 16 counts of second degree burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools.

The 56-year-old was identified by an anonymous tip.

The other suspect in the case is 20-year-old Drake Durbin who was charged last week.

Herrera allegedly took part in a series of downtown burglaries in which bicycles were stolen from apartment buildings.

In many cases bike locks were cut and suspects were seen in security video riding out of the building.
