TORONTO, Canada (CBS4) – The Broncos have a big fan in Toronto sitting at the mayor’s desk.
Embattled Mayor Rob Ford is ignoring calls that he step down following revelations of drug use and other erratic behavior, and earlier this week he took time out to greet Toronto native Orlando Franklin, the Broncos offensive lineman.
Ford was wearing Franklin’s Broncos jersey and even showed him some football moves. He presented Franklin with a proclamation congratulating him for his team’s Super Bowl appearance and thanking him for his charity work.
“Anytime someone comes around and supports me and the Denver Broncos I’m happy,” Franklin said.
Ford is running for re-election in Toronto.
