Driver Identified In Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Hit & Run

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have identified the suspect believed to be the driver in a fatal hit and run that happened on Interstate 225 Sunday night.

Authorities arrested 31-year-old Tashima Littleton of Denver Sunday night and believe her to be the driver of a car that struck and killed a pedestrian.

Police believe she was drinking.

According to police the crash happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. when a 22-year-old male pedestrian was crossing the southbound lanes of I-225 between 17th Place and Interstate 70.

The male was struck by a suburban vehicle being driven by an adult female who failed to stop and fled the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

The identity of the victim is not being released until next of kin has been notified.

Police said a witness followed the vehicle and provided police with a description and license plate number.

Patrol officers found the suspect and vehicle a short time later.

Evidence tied the vehicle and suspect to the crash.

Tashima has been released with charges pending once the investigation is complete.
