Police On The Hunt For Juvenile Escapee

DENVER (CBS4) – Police are looking for an escapee teenager with a violent past.

Police throughout the metro area are being told to pay attention and watch for the teen.

The teen escaped from near a detention facility on the corner of 28th Avenue and Downing Street Thursday night.

Officers responded to the scene just after 7 p.m. and set up a perimeter around the neighborhood.

Residents were warned to stay inside while canines and officers searched the area.

Though the perimeter has since come down, authorities are still looking for the escapee.

He is described as a black juvenile male, five-foot-eleven inches tall, 165 pounds, wearing hospital scrubs and one orange flip flop.

He also has a Rockies tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to please call police.
