Family Of Man Who Died At Denver Zoo Files Lawsuit Against City

DENVER (CBS4) - A federal judge has heard from the family of a man who died after police used a stun gun on him at the Denver Zoo.

The zoo called police after Alonzo Ashley started acting bizarrely, including biting a zoo employee.

The incident happened in the summer of 2011.

Ashley had convulsions and stopped breathing after he was stunned. An autopsy revealed he had THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, in his system. Police say they found drugs and drug paraphernalia on him.

Ashley's family is suing the city for the death. A judge will decide how much evidence will be allowed.
