Police Search For Robbery, Attempted Sex Assault Suspect

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are searching for an attempted sexual assault suspect after a woman was attacked Thursday afternoon.

The woman was parking her car in the 700 block of W. 11th Avenue just before 2 p.m.

The victim was approached by the suspect and asked for directions. When the victim turned to answer, the suspect grabbed her from behind by the throat and pressed a gun to the back of her head.

The victim was dragged in the alley where she was robbed of her cell phone and the suspect tried to sexually assault her.

The victim described the suspect as a black man, about 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, wearing a black beanie-style hat, a bluish-grey scarf, black jacket and blue jeans.
