Blowing Snow Closes Some Colorado Mountain Roads

DENVER (AP) - Blowing snow is expected to continue making travel dangerous in parts of Colorado's mountains through the evening.

A winter weather advisory for the northern and central mountains that had been set to expire by midday Tuesday has been extended through 9 p.m.

Rabbits Ears Pass and Loveland Pass are among the roads closed because of the extreme conditions. Berthoud Pass is back open after workers cleaned up a triggered avalanche that was between 100 and 150 feet wide and over 20 feet deep.

The National Weather Service says wind gusts of around 60 mph are possible on mountain passes.
