Greeley Couple Captured After Chase In Nebraska
HAY SPRINGS, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a 31-year-old Colorado man who evaded pursuing officers has been arrested at a convenience store in the northern Nebraska Panhandle.
The Nebraska State Patrol says Ryan Riddle and 22-year-old Rebecca Melzo were taken into custody around 9:15 a.m. Sunday at the store in Hay Springs. Both are from Greeley, Colo.
The patrol says Riddle was driving on Thursday morning when a trooper attempted to stop Riddle's vehicle for speeding near Alliance. The vehicle left the highway and rolled onto pastureland. It continued for about 20 miles before becoming disabled. The patrol says Riddle and Melzo then left the vehicle and took off on foot. They remained free until Sunday.
Riddle was in jail on Monday. Court records don't list the name of his attorney. Melzo was not detained.
