Loveland's 2014 Valentine's Day Re-Mailing Seal Unveiled

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - This is the time of year when lovers really start thinking About Valentine's Day, and in Loveland that means the details of this year's Valentine re-mailing program are unveiled.

About 160,000 valentines are re-mailed through the "Sweetheart City," making it the largest such program in the country.

Every year since 1947 volunteers hand-stamp the love notes with a special message, and this year that message reflects the historic floods. It is as follows:

From the Sweetheart City
Scenic, Safe and Strong
Comes a flood of Valentine wishes
To you, where they belong.

This year's card was designed by Loveland resident John Metcalf.

"Metcalf's inspiration for the card was Loveland's art community, its heart program and the sentiment of love that goes along with the holiday," according to loveland.org.

The valentine verse, written by Dixie Daly, is as follows:

As I dream of what love should be,
Sentiments from The Sweetheart City are what I see.
With so much love in the air
Comes this message of love to share.
May your wishes & dreams come true
As I celebrate this Valentine's Day with you!

There is also a special beer just for the Valentine's festivities in Loveland. It's a raspberry porter called the "Bleeding Heart."
