DENVER (CBS4) – Gov. John Hickenlooper on Monday recognized state employees for their help in the process of recovering from the September flooding.
The governor thanked workers from agencies, including the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Department of Public Safety and the Office of Emergency Management. Hickenlooper said they went above and beyond when the floods hit.
“You guys put the well-being of the citizens of Colorado ahead of your own. And you sacrificed your family time, your sleep, to make sure these folks who lost so much got help when they needed it,” Hickenlooper said.
September’s floods impacted more than 28,000 people in 24 counties. Thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed.
