Teen Dies After Altercation With Other Teens In Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4/AP) – A fight between teenagers at a Thornton mobile home park early Saturday morning turned deadly.

Thornton Police Sgt. Matt Kandt says officers were called to the scene of the fight at about 1:45 a.m. The victim, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Police have detained two teens and are looking for others.

Thornton police confirmed that the victim lived at the Pine Lakes Mobile Home Park where he died.

A young man told CBS4's Howard Nathan that his best friend had been murdered, but he was too emotionally hurt and did not want to talk on camera. Later, off camera, he said his friend had just turned 18.

Thornton police have not said much about how the teen died. The initial report said that officers responded to a report of a male with a serious injury to this throat and that he later died from his injuries.

The fight happened in the 4200 block of East 100th Avenue. Police said they haven't found many witnesses.
