Aurora Police Search For Person Of Interest In Homicide

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Aurora would like the public's help in locating a person of interest in a homicide that occurred on Dec. 27.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a dead body in the 11900 block of East Archer Place.

"When officers arrived on scene they found the body of a deceased adult male inside of the apartment who was the apparent victim of a homicide," police said in a statement.

The man has been identified as 28-year-old Rodolfo Martinez-Cancin.

Police are now searching for Eric Jesus Chacon-Martinez in connection with the case. He was Martinez-Cancin's roommate. He is described as being 30 to 33 years old, 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds. He may work as a house painter.

"He has not been seen since the night of the homicide and investigators would like to talk to him," police said.

The victim's name hasn't been released.

If the person with information is Spanish speaking only, they may call 303-739-6957 and leave a message in Spanish. You can also call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867). You may also text your tip to 274637 (CRIMES) then use the title DMCS and enter your message. You may remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to two thousand dollars ($2,000).
