Denver Sets Up Fireworks Show For New Year's Eve

DENVER (CBS4) – Denver is getting ready to celebrate the new year with two fireworks shows on New Year's Eve.

The fireworks will go off from on top of the Sheraton hotel in Downtown Denver.

The show will be visible all along the 16th Street Mall and Downtown.

Each show will be eight minutes long.

Fireworks are already positioned on top of the 22-story hotel.

Western Enterprises is the company that has been doing the show for three generations. They say the fireworks are specially made for downtown.

"Because you can be so close in proximity to the audience and the buildings it's way different than the regular aerial show," said pyrotechnic expert Jim Burnett.

The shows are synchronized to music and the celebration features 10 DJs spinning all night along the mall.

The two shows taking place on New Year's Eve will be at 9 p.m. and at midnight.

The Downtown Denver Partnership, Visit Denver and the downtown Denver Business Improvement District put the light show together.
