Salvation Army Serves Holiday Meals To The Needy
DENVER (CBS4) – The Salvation Army offered a hot, holiday meal to hundreds of people who needed a hand on Christmas Eve.
This year's annual holiday dinner was served at the Colorado Convention Center.
Along with the meal which was provided by Safeway, the Salvation Army also handed out toys to children.
"I've seen more families glad to offer service. It's an additional challenge to us as a society to figure out what can we do to help so that they'll be less families next year," said Lt. Col. Dan Starrett.
850 pounds of ham were served along with 200 pounds of potatoes, 10 cases of cranberry sauce and 250 pies.
