Memorial Plans Set For Arapahoe High Shooting Victim Claire Davis

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - A memorial for Claire Davis, the sole victim of the Arapahoe High Shooting, will take place at the event center at Denver's National Western complex on Jan. 1.

Davis, 17, died more than a week after being shot by another student in her school library.

The event will be called Claire Davis Memorial Celebration of Life.

The National Western complex was chosen as the location for the memorial in part because of Davis' love of horses. She competed at a horse event there earlier this year.

The National Western Stock Show and Rodeo will also rename one of their 2014 events the "Claire Davis Memorial Gambler's Choice Horse Show."

Davis was a senior at Arapahoe High and was getting ready to graduate in the spring.
