Broken Water Main Leaves Some Without Water
DENVER (CBS4) – Crews are working to repair a broken water main that happened early Saturday morning.
The break happened at Holly Street and Florida Avenue.
Two apartment complexes, two single family homes, and a business are without water.
The water main break created slick conditions at the intersection of Holly and Florida.
Denver Water hopes to have the repairs completed and the road reopened by Saturday night.
They believe old age caused the main to break.
"There could be a lot of things that factor into it but we do know this pipe was installed in 1956. The aging infrastructure definitely plays a part in this," said Travis Thompson from the Denver Water Department.
Northbound Holly will remain closed during repairs.
As of Saturday night the 12 inch break has been repaired.
