The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards are going a little bit country next year. A special GRAMMY Moment performance will feature Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Blake Shelton on the GRAMMY stage together.
Two-time GRAMMY winner Merle Haggard and three-time GRAMMY winner (and 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient) Kris Kristofferson will join forces with Willie Nelson, a seven-time GRAMMY winner, and current GRAMMY nominee Blake Shelton, who is up for Best Country Solo Performance (“Mine Would Be You”), Best Country Album (Based On A True Story…) and Best Country Song (“Mine Would Be You”).
Country artists are well represented at the upcoming GRAMMY Awards. Kacey Musgraves is one of the nominees for the all-genre Best New Artist category alongside James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Ed Sheeran.
Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced in the coming weeks.
Music’s Biggest Night will take place on Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show will broadcast live on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m. ET.
