HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4)- A mother in Highlands Ranch has been arrested after police found her unconscious in a running vehicle in the garage with her two small children outside the house.

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the home in the 4900 block of Laurelglen Lane in Highlands Ranch on Dec. 9.

When they arrived they found two small children standing in front of the home and their mother, Erin Giberti, unconscious inside a running vehicle located in the garage.

Giberti, 36, was rushed to the hospital.

Deputies said the two children were inside the car at one point but it is unclear whether they exited the vehicle themselves or someone helped them. The ages of the children have not been released.

On Thursday Giberti was arrested and attempted murder charges were recommended. Giberti remains in custody on a $250,000 bond.
