Community Gathers To Light Menorah In Memory Of Jessica Ridgeway

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Community members gathered on Sunday afternoon in Jessica Ridgeway Park in Westminster to light a Chanukah menorah in memory of Jessica Ridgeway.

The menorah was lit with Jessica's mother, Sara Ridgeway, on hand in front of people from all faiths and backgrounds. The event was hosted by Chabad of Northwest Metro Denver.

"A community effort is underway to purchase and dedicate the 9-foot menorah in memory of Jessica," organizers said in a statement. "The menorah will be used for the community event and will also be displayed at Westminster City Hall annually for the duration of the Chanukah and winter holiday season."

The menorah will feature a picture of Jessica and be lit in purple, her favorite color.
