At Least 50 Vehicles Have Tires Slashed In Arvada

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Someone slashed the tires on at least 50 vehicles in Arvada early Sunday morning.

The vandalism happened between 53rd and 56th avenues and Marshall and Quay streets.

"I thought, 'What the heck? I got a flat tire.' Then I noticed both of them were flat. Then I noticed they got two of them on my Mustang too," Wayne Chismar said. "He just took a knife and poosh."

Chismar wasn't alone. Around the corner from Chismar Larry Scott was repairing his two tires on his Jeep.

"You don't know what to do, really. I've got so much stuff in the garage I can't get it in the garage. I leave my porch light on every night, and that didn't seem to stop them," Scott said.

Police say they don't have any strong leads on any suspects.

Susan Hull's daughter was another victim in the slashing spree.

"That's the bad thing. This time of year everyone is getting ready for the holiday. We have no idea who did it," Hull said.

Chismar's four damaged tires are setting him back at least $1,000.

"They are going to pay if they get caught, and I hope they get caught. What goes around comes around," he said.

Arvada police will have extra patrols around the community but they still need help tracking down the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
