ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – After five weeks a family that was burned out of their home has been reunited with their cat.

A fire in late October destroyed several units at the Woodhaven Apartments. People have not been allowed to get back into their homes or get their belongings. The county says it's because the complex's management has refused to apply for the proper inspections.

A cat that was stuck in one of the apartments was reunited with its owners Friday.

The Denver Dumb Friends League helped rescue the cat after Woodhaven management told the owners they could not go back inside to look for their pet.
