Man Who Blamed Twin Brother On Attacks On Children Pleads Guilty

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who blamed his twin brother on attacks on children has now pleaded guilty.

Aaron Gregory Lucas, a soldier at Fort Carson, was arrested for crimes over the past two years in Fountain and Colorado Springs.

The case was a challenge for police because there was the obvious question if the Lucas and his brother were indeed identical twins. If so it would be hard to get accurate DNA testing results. Tuesday's guilty plea made that a moot point.

"His twin brother had no connection to military, so the military uniform certainly pushed it in a direction closer to Aaron Lucas," Deputy District Attorney Kelson Castain said. "We've certainly been investigating different tests to distinguish the twins from each other."

That all changed when Aaron Lucas entered a guilty plea.

"He pled guilty to four counts of sexual assaults on a child, three counts of enticement of a child, two counts of indecent exposure, and one count of kidnapping in second degree," Castain said.

The charges involve 10 children in Colorado, but police say there were others in other states.

Lucas received an indeterminate sentence, which means it's up to the parole board when or if he ever leaves prison.
