FREDERICK, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have turned the case of the death of a 3-year-old in Weld County over to the district attorney's office.

The child shot himself to death at his home in Frederick last month. He somehow got a hold of his step-father's handgun.

The Weld County District Attorney's Office says it could take some time to make a decision on charges.
