4 New Cases Of 'Dog Door' Burglaries In Highlands Ranch

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says there have been four new cases of a thief or thieves getting into homes through dog doors since CBS4 first reported the story on Nov. 6.

The burglaries are happening in the same Highlands Ranch neighborhood as the previous six cases.

iPods, cellphones and cash are being targeted. All burglaries happened between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Authorities say homeowners with dog doors should do all they can to prevent access by someone unwanted through the door. They suggest putting something in front of it when going to sleep at night.
