BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – A couple hiking near Flagstaff Mountain was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.

Boulder County deputies say the couple began hiking up towards the Sunrise Amphitheater around 9:45 p.m. when two men approached them near an overlook.

The victims said the suspects shined a bright flashlight in their faces and pulled out what appeared to be a gun.

That's when deputies say one of the men pointed what appeared to be a gun at them and ordered the couple to put all their belongings on the ground. The men then took everything and ran back down toward the trailhead.

One of the men is described to be about 6 feet tall and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The other was described as being about 5-foot-8 and was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

No one was hurt and the couple told investigators they believe the suspects took off in a silver SUV, possibly a Toyota.

The robbery came as a surprise to hiker Corey Kline.

"Honestly I'm pretty shocked. I never worry about things like that when I'm out here," Kline told CBS4.
