CU Student Admits To Beating Raccoon To Death For Its Hide

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – A student at the University of Colorado in Boulder is facing animal cruelty charges after admitting he took a baseball bat to a raccoon and beat it to death.

Jace Griffiths, 19, was arrested on Wednesday. He told officers he saw the raccoon, and even though he realized he could have just walked away he decided to kill the animal.

Griffiths told police he killed the raccoon for its hide.
