Del Rio Chosen To Be Interim Head Coach During Fox's Medical Leave

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Jack Del Rio will lead the Broncos as interim head coach while John Fox recovers from a medical procedure.

Head coach John Fox underwent heart surgery Monday morning after he felt dizzy while playing golf in North Carolina over the weekend. The Broncos had a bye this past weekend.

Del Rio is a logical choice as temporary coach. He led the Jacksonville Jaguars as head coach from 2003 to 2011.

Fox is undergoing an aortic valve procedure and could be back in the coach's seat before the end of the regular season.

The Broncos are now preparing to take on the Chargers in San Diego on Sunday.

Broncos executive John Elway and Jack Del Rio spoke with reporters at midday from the Broncos headquarters. (FULL STORY)
