DENVER (CBS4) – Thousands of people hit the streets in downtown Denver for the annual diabetes walk on Saturday.
“Step Out: Walk To Stop Diabetes” raises money for prevention and treatment. More than 26 million people in the U.S. live with diabetes.
“Myself and my boyfriend both lost our fathers to diabetes within the last couple of years, so it’s a strong cause for us that we want to support and give back to. It just means a lot to us,” Shannon Serna said.
CBS4’s Justin McHeffey emceed the event. The goal was to raise $300,000 at the walk.
